Wall Cheer team to present fourth annual ‘Pink Out’

October 4, 2012

WALL TOWNSHIP — The Wall High School Cheerleading squad will run its annual Pink Out event during the varsity football team’s game against Brick Township tomorrow night, according to Athletic Director Thomas Ridoux.

The annual event is in its fourth year, with its main objective to promote awareness of breast cancer, the most common form of cancer found in women. The “Pink Out” night will also raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a global foundation set up to fight the disease.

October is breast cancer awareness month.

To raise funding, the Wall High School Cheerleading squad will be selling both long and short sleeve, pink Tee-Shirts, along with sweatshirts, with all the money raised going directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The cheerleaders are also asking spectators who do not purchase shirts to wear their own form of pink to support the cause.
