Wall baseball now controls C Central destiny

April 28, 2011

With a 9-5 victory over Jackson Liberty yesterday, the Wall baseball team now has total control over its division destiny.  The team is currently 10-1 on the season and undefeated in C Central with three divisional games left to play.  With another divisional win, the Knights will lock up AT LEAST a share of the division and with two victories, would win it outright.

The team’s first chance for at least a tie will be Monday, when they travel to Point Borough to take on the Panthers.  If the Knights win, then they will have a chance to win the division outright against, you guessed it, Manasquan.

Wall’s road game with the Warriors is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and will most likely be played at the Wall Municipal Complex, due to Manasquan renovating its field this season.  The Knights just recently beat the Warriors 10-0, but you can be sure the Warriors are looking for revenge.  Manasquan manager Dennis Van Pelt will surely have his team ready to play on Wednesday.

Next Monday, the team will finish out its C Central schedule at Monsignor Donovan.

With the way the Knights are swinging the bat and with the pitching they have gotten, especially from junior Harry Paytas [5-0], I can’t see the team not taking two out of three.  My predicition is that Wall will be the outright 2011 C Central Division champions.
