Ice Hockey update

February 24, 2011

In one of the top games of the season the Manasquan ice hockey team defeated Rumson-Fair Haven 2-1 on Wednesday in the Dowd Cup semifinal to advance to the finals on Saturday, 8 p.m. against Marlboro at the Red Bank Armory.

The Warriors played an outstanding defensive game and protected a one-goal lead behind the goaltending of Bronson Ligouri and some great crowd support from a packed house at the Gold Coast Arena in Wall.

Read the next issue of the Coast Star for a full game story.

Manasquan is still waiting for word on the time and date of its state game with Ramsey. It will be a road game for the Warriors and will probably take place either Monday or Tuesday.

St. Rose will play its first state tournament game in program history 4 p.m. on Friday at the Flyers Skate Zone in Pennsauken against Bishop Eustace.

Wall is scheduled to play its state tournament game 6 p.m. on Monday against Ridegwood at the Ice Vault in Hackensack.

Check the next issue of the Coast Star for full game stories on all the state ice hockey games.
