Wall vs. Manasquan game on ice….for now

January 27, 2011

The Manasquan and Wall ice hockey game, which was originally scheduled for Dec. 29, is still on hold. At one point the game was going to played on Jan. 30, at 8:15 p.m., but the late start time on a Sunday night was eventually nixed.

It is a shame the game has taken so long to get rescheduled because it is always a fun rivalry game and this is the first time in over three years the Warriors have a legitimate shot at knocking off the Crimson Knights. Manasquan has displayed a high scoring offense led by Connor Grogan. Wall, however, has a solid and experienced defensive unit and has played a tougher schedule than the Warriors, lets just hope the game finally gets put on the schedule and the snow stays away for a couple of days so we can find out who is the best on the ice this season.

As for the Manasquan and Wall boys basketball game the two teams will meet on Tuesday at the Crimson Knights gym. Wall will be looking for a bit of revenge after an excellent defensive effort by the Warriors helped lead to a horrid offensive evening for the Crimson Knights during their last meeting, a 46-22 win for Manasquan.

The Warriors have gone through a meat-grinder of a schedule since playing Wall on Jan. 11, with games against Middletown North, Lakewood and Point Pleasant Borough. All of those tough games could help Manasquan when the Warriors face Wall, 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
