Jackson Liberty ruined my Friday

January 24, 2011

I had great sports plans for Friday, but Jackson Liberty ruined the party for both the Wall boys basketball team and the St. Rose ice hockey team on Friday. The Crimson Knight boys had already beaten the Lions once this season and the fans at Wall were ready to celebrate not only a victory, but the 1,000th career point. Jackson Liberty of course had different plans and Janeczek, despite a great second-half effort would fall three points shy of his milestone point.

The senior should pick up his 1,000th point early in the game against Lakewood on Tuesday, which is a very tough matchup for the Crimson Knights.

The St. Rose ice hockey team also played Jackson Liberty on Friday. A win would have clinched a state tournament spot for the Purple Roses, but it was not to be, just like the Lions basketball team, the Lions on the ice saved their best effort for the Purple Roses and pulled out a last-minute 4-3 victory.

You can read the full details of both stories in this coming 1/27 editio of The Coast Star.
